A couple of small improvements would have been more space in the freezer, it was almost full, I think we had 1.5 drawers from 6. Also the parking instructions are odd. There is lot's of space if you park along the track in single file, we had just enough for 4 cars but tbh you could have got more in if needed. They kindly let us check out later which was a massive help. The logs for the hot tub were just enough for one day, we bought some more locally and the 2nd day it warmed up much quicker. The garden was huge to play football on, and run around, overall a lovely stay and would certainly return.

While the hot tub was fantastic, and you feel like you’re in the middle of the woods when you’re in it, an unexpected treat was the wildlife! We saw both a family of foxes and a family of deer, during out stay, which all added to the tranquillity. I would 100% stay at The Spy’s House again and my group are already planning a possible winter visit. Thanks again!

Everything we needed was provided with plenty of crockery etc.The setting is so peaceful - we really enjoyed the sound of the birds each day - and within easy reach of some lovely walks (and a bit further afield a local vineyard).All in all would highly recommend a stay at Evan and Victoria's beautiful home.

The setting was great for our group with a large dining area, with a kids play area right next to this. Bedrooms were comfortable. Overall the house was great, although more showers would have been a bonus with 10 adults. The AGA was not turned on and we had expected that it would be given it was November. We really enjoyed the hot tub, but found it slightly uncomfortable that there was a motion detected CCTV camera filming the hot tub area (while CCTV cameras are mentioned in the listing, it doesn’t mention of the hot tub area). Given that this is the host’s main home the wardrobes and chests of drawers were still full of their clothes, so if you require space to hang or store clothes you may want to flag this in advance.

If hosting for a large group (there were 12 of us at lunch), I’d recommend hiring glassware and crockery as we struggled to set the table for three courses but that’s to be expected in an Airbnb property as sets get damaged and deployed time. We didn’t use the gym but it looked cool and compact. We did make good use of the hot tub every night but does require a lot of firewood, time and effort! Overall a thoroughly enjoyable location for a family gathering.

They where very accommodating with a lot of my needs and answered all my questions superbly.The house has everything you need from loads of beds, tons of downstairs space, outdoor space and places to sit. There was never a moment where 16 people felt too close together, and the house is more than big enough for people to sit in little groups. The only thing I would say is that it took so long to heat up - 7hrs (instead of the 3 hrs suggested) so we could only go in at midnight! It also took a lot of work for two of my guests to regularly stoke the fire. It would have been great if it could be ready for guests to use when they check in instead. Also the noise deposit was a bit surprising and isn’t advertised on here. These factors caused a bit of stress on the day and the price is a bit high considering this. However everything about the place, the location and the beauty was perfect for my birthday celebrations. The hosts responded very quickly to any questions etc which was great. Thank you again.

Beds were super comfy and the hot tub was great - much larger than we had expected - although as it's woodburning it did need about 6 hours to heat up, which you should factor into plans.We weren't happy to learn that there are several requirements that aren't described on the listing and weren't communicated prior to payment. These basically consisted of a requested £500 noise deposit, to be refunded if there were no issues with noise over the visit. Whilst we totally appreciate the need to be respectful of the neighbours etc, we don't think we should have been asked for an off-platform deposit at 3 days' notice (as was the case). Evan was accomodating to understand our concerns with this and we were pleased overall with our stay.

The house was as described, spacious, stylish clean and well maintained. There was plenty of room for us all and we made good use of the gardens to play games with the kids. Well equipped kitchen for cooking and close to facilities (shops, takeaways, pubs) for anything else you’d need but still feeling ‘away from it all’. The house guides and ‘hints and tips’ signs are really helpful. We were privileged to see deer in the garden in the late evening and early mornings! The hot tub is wood fired so worth getting to grips with this early in your stay- but worth the little extra effort for all the relaxation. The parking area is a little walk away from the house (around a path, and due to the large gardens) so just worth being aware of this when packing your stuff, but not an issue. Plenty of room for the three cars we travelled in. We would not hesitate to recommend this property for a lovely family break!

We couldn't believe we had that huge house and garden for ourselves. It was a really short drive from London so we would definitely go there again for a weekend away where you feel like you're in the country but don't want to spend half a day travelling. As it was raining we didn't see much of the surrounding area but there was enough space in the house that the kids didn't feel cooped up.

It’s tucked way back from the road in a huge garden and we couldn’t hear any traffic, just wildlife cheeping... read more and chirping away. The nearest neighbours are 100m away, so it really is a picture of tranquillity and calm. The kitchen/diner area is the obvious star of the house but we also enjoyed the snug, which has been furnished beautifully. With Guildford 5 mins away by car, and fab nearby walks (great food at the village pub too), this might be the best Airbnb I’ve found that mixes country and city living. The showers, cookers and mod-cons worked perfectly so there was no need to call on Evan, and the guidebook provided included every tiny piece of info you could possibly want. Highly recommended and I’ve already made advance plans to return next year. Thanks again.
