The house was clean and tidy and both Victoria and Evan were gracious, helpful and attentive hosts (even who our dog seemed to want to spend more time with them at the annex than with us!)We have nothing but fantastic things to say about the house and have some lovely memories of our stay. The property itself was very clean and had everything we could possibly need, including the kitchen which also had kids plates/cutlery and a decent knives and a sharpener (my personal measure of a good property!). everything was clearly labelled and we had a wonderful stay. Would absolutely recommend and would stay again!

The house itself is basically concealed at the back of... read more a huge plot of land, and you feel totally secluded and private yet our group made it into central Guildford in about 5 minutes by car. While the hot tub was fantastic, and you feel like you’re in the middle of the woods when you’re in it, an unexpected treat was the wildlife! We saw both a family of foxes and a family of deer, during out stay, which all added to the tranquillity. I would 100% stay at The Spy’s House again and my group are already planning a possible winter visit. Thanks again!

The location was also great - close enough to Guildford to go for dinner but it felt like you were out in the countryside and there were good walks nearby. The hot tub was an extra bonus! Everything we needed was provided with plenty of crockery etc.The setting is so peaceful - we really enjoyed the sound of the birds each day - and within easy reach of some lovely walks (and a bit further afield a local vineyard).All in all would highly recommend a stay at Evan and Victoria's beautiful home.

It’s a full time job maintaining the temperature for at least 8 hours and you need a lot more wood than there was. However, they did mention where to buy more. The setting was great for our group with a large dining area, with a kids play area right next to this. Bedrooms were comfortable. Overall the house was great, although more showers would have been a bonus with 10 adults. The AGA was not turned on and we had expected that it would be given it was November. We really enjoyed the hot tub, but found it slightly uncomfortable that there was a motion detected CCTV camera filming the hot tub area (while CCTV cameras are mentioned in the listing, it doesn’t mention of the hot tub area). Given that this is the host’s main home the wardrobes and chests of drawers were still full of their clothes, so if you require space to hang or store clothes you may want to flag this in advance.

The space was comfortable and clean, and Victoria and Evan were understanding and flexible when it came to checking in/out. Definitely take note of the directions that you’re given as the place is tucked away and easy to miss! Would recommend for a big family holiday.

The large grassy spaces on both sides of the house were convenient for the children to play while the surrounding meadows and trails worked well for those of us looking for longer walks or runs. Victoria greeted us when we arrived and continued to be a source of help with answers to our many questions throughout our stay.

The hosts recommended a wonderful private chef who came to cook Easter lunch for us. If hosting for a large group (there were 12 of us at lunch), I’d recommend hiring glassware and crockery as we struggled to set the table for three courses but that’s to be expected in an Airbnb property as sets get damaged and deployed time. We didn’t use the gym but it looked cool and compact. We did make good use of the hot tub every night but does require a lot of firewood, time and effort! Overall a thoroughly enjoyable location for a family gathering.

All the rooms are well-equipped and we had no complaints about poor sleep - with enough privacy for 4 different families. Two things we couldn't try were the gym and outdoor hot tub, unfortunately, there just wasn't any time left... Communication with the owners was brilliant - detailed information before the trip and immediate communication during the stay. Overall, my dad was absolutely over the moon that we spent a very special birthday for him at this place - can only recommend.

The beds are comfortable and the house is clean. This is a family home so there are lots of family photos. Would recommend for a group trip.
